
Alexis De Sela Biography
Hello, I am Alexis De Sela, a 45 year old San Antonio native. I am a graduate of UTSA and hold a BBA in Human Resource Management.
Though I have spent 23 years in a corporate environment, health and fitness has been a passion of mine for years - so much so, that I made the decision to pursue this as a career and opened my own personal training studio. As my life has been transformed through fitness, I want to help others achieve the same. Through diligent exercise (yes, I too train with a personal trainer) and eating healthy, I am in the best shape of my life.
I wasn’t always in good shape, though. When I turned 40, my body started to go through those inevitable changes a woman’s body goes through: fat around the belly, expanding thighs and hips, back aching from too much sitting in meeting after meeting, the scale showing a number that jolts you to the core … you get the picture. It was then that I got serious about improving my health and level of fitness. I started to go to the gym regularly and signed up with a personal trainer that would help keep me accountable. It took me about two years to lose 25 pounds, bring my body fat percentage down and increase lean muscle. During that time I also learned to eat healthier and, through mindfulness and meditation conquer my own “food demons.”
Through this cathartic process, I developed a passion for fitness and I knew with absolute certainty that I wanted to help others experience the transformation - physical, emotional and spiritual - that I have undergone. So, I planned my new career and resigned my position as a Credit Union executive. It was the best and most rewarding decision of my adult life.
I am thankful for every client I have the privilege of training. It’s not just about pushing and pulling a weight. It’s about developing a partnership in which we work towards the same goal and your fitness needs are evaluated and met. It’s about listening to you and observing your body to make sure you’re exercising safely and effectively. It’s about being sensitive to your state of mind each and every time and creating workout sessions that are customized, fun and varied. It’s about YOU.
